Annual Golf Tournament Ready to Tee Off
The Leesburg Optimist Club annual golf tournament will be held Thursday May 17 2012. It will be hosted once again at one of our favorite venues, and truly one of the nicest courses in northern Virginia, Stoneleigh Golf & Country Club in Round Hill.
This course offers challenging holes, breathtaking vistas, great facilities and accommodations, and a top-notch staff. Come on out and join us while helping us support the youth of our community through this great fundraising event.
For more than thirty‐five years, the Leesburg Optimist Club has been providing a variety of services and support to Loudoun County Youth. Our activities have included donations to Childhood Cancer & Loudoun Memorial Hospital Pediatrics Unit, Oratorical Contest for high school students, participation in a variety of activities in support of Parks & Recreations, Special Olympics of Loudoun County, Christmas Coalition, sponsoring a Loudoun County youth to attend the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership conference, providing FREE games on children’s day at the county fair, providing bell ringers for the past 15 years for the Salvation Army, providing manpower support for All Night Graduation since its inception, and the list goes on and on.
Our fundraising focus for this year is our Childhood Cancer programs. 100% of all proceeds from this year’s tournament will be dedicated to assisting those Loudoun County families experiencing this terrible ordeal and to those organizations and programs that provide treatment and assistance in combating this disease.
We can’t offer you celebrity names, leaders in our community, or sports figures to network with, but we can offer you an opportunity to participate in an exciting day of golfing and the satisfaction of knowing you’re helping a local organization to better serve your local community with more or improved activities. We are "Friends of Youth" in your community, why not be a friend of youth yourself?
